Radiation test MEMS inertial accelerometer for spacecraft electronic testing

Technology Cover
發佈日期: 2022-04-04, Silicon Labs

A family of miniature, radiation-tested tactical MEMS inertial accelerometers. Silicon Design launched the 1527 series

The series offers three standard full-size acceleration ranges of ±10g, ±25g and ±50g, respectively, and is designed to support a variety of critical space electronics test requirements, including spacecraft satellites and cubesats.

Aso, with its small bias and scale factor temperature coefficient, excellent operational bias stability and zero cross coupling design, makes the series particularly suitable for spacecraft electronic test applications requiring low power consumption (+5VDC, 6.5mA), low noise, long-term measurement stability in -55C to +125C environments. And performance reliability under intermittent radiation exposure.

The rugged design combines high-performance, tactical-grade MEMS inertial sensing elements with custom integrated circuits, internal temperature sensors, onboard sensor amplifiers, and ±4V differential analog output stages. The MEMS inertial sensing element and internal assembly are contained in a lightweight, hermetically sealed, nitrogen-damped, miniature, RoHS compliant, J-lead LCC-20 surface mount ceramic package (US export Classification ECCN 7A994), weighing only 0.68g.

Its compact and lightweight footprint makes the accelerometer easy to install in space-constrained environments and minimizes the impact of mass loads. The upper and lower surfaces of each accelerometer are marked with a traceable serial number.
